PART TIME TOWN CLERK

The Town of Monterey is seeking qualified applicants for the part time appointed position of Town Clerk.  The Town Clerk serves as the Chief Election Official, Recording Officer, Registrar of Vital Statistics, Public Records Officer, Licensing Officer and Public Information Officer.  The Town Clerk will perform all duties in accordance with applicable Massachusetts General Laws, town policies, town bylaws and relevant state, federal and local regulations and standards.  Applicants must possess the advanced knowledge, skills, ability and progressive experience necessary to serve as the Town Clerk.  Previous experience as a Town Clerk preferred. The position requires a minimum of 15 hours per week during normal town hall operating hours (including Saturday mornings) and monthly reporting to the Select Board at their Wednesday morning meetings.  This position is a non-benefited position that pays up to $19,210/yr depending on experience. The Town of Monterey is seeking qualified applicants for the part time appointed position of Town Treasurer.  The Town Treasurer will perform all duties in accordance with applicable Massachusetts General Laws, town policies, town bylaws and relevant state, federal and local regulations and standards.  Applicants must possess the advanced knowledge, skills, ability and progressive experience necessary to serve as the Town Treasurer.  Requirements include experience in municipal finance/accounting, payroll, automated accounting systems and experience with the Softright municipal accounting software.  The position requires a minimum of 10 posted hours per week during normal town hall operating hours and monthly reporting to the Select Board at their Wednesday morning meetings.  This position is a non-benefited position that pays up to $14,858/yr depending on experience. WANTED: Part Time Town Administrator

The Town of Monterey (pop 957. $4.2million budget) seeks qualified applicants for the part time (minimum of 20 hours) benefited position of Town Administrator.  The Town Administrator serves as Chief Administrative Officer, appointed by a three member Select Board.  The successful candidate will possess: leadership qualities, communication skills, experience with municipal finances/budget, procurement and Mass General Laws; human resources/personnel knowledge and experience; grant writing record.  A strong commitment and desire to work collaboratively with town department heads, employees, boards, committees and residents.  Bachelor’s Degree in public or business administration or related field preferred.  A minimum of five years’ experience as a Town Administrator or Town Manager preferred.  Any equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute at the discretion of the Select Board. Senior Work Off Tax Abatement Job Opportunities
TOWN OF MONTEREY
SENIOR WORK-OFF PROGRAM
RULES AND REGULATIONS

In order to be eligible, participants must be 60 years of age or older and a property owner for at least one year in the Town of Monterey, or the co-owner or spouse of homeowner.
Only one member of a household may participate in this program.
There are no income eligibility requirements for participants.
Abatements will be made on the tax bill following completion of employment.  Each placement will terminate on June 30th of the fiscal year in which an appointment is made.  To be considered for participation in future fiscal years, the individual must reapply.
The tax reduction will be computed at the rate of the Massachusetts minimum wage applicable at the time the work is performed with a maximum of $1,000 per fiscal year per household.
In the event a property is sold and the seller has earned abatement, the earned abatement will be credited toward the sellers’ portion of the taxes.  Abatements earned may not exceed the tax liability.  In the event of the death of an owner who has earned abatement, the full abatement amount will be credited to the property’s heirs.
The Board of Selectmen may amend these Rules and Regulations as necessary.
