To the Communities of the 4th Berkshire District:
We have been informed by the local census headquarters that South County is in need of recruits to do clerical work, to knock on doors as well as enumerators. They have asked for our help to make sure South Berkshire County is well represented.
If you know of anyone who would like to work for the census, please have them call 1-866-861-2010 and follow the prompts. This will direct you to our local census office in Pittsfield where they can sign up to take a test. The applicant needs basic fundamental knowledge i.e.; basic math, alphabetizing, etc. Clerical staff makes $11.00 per hour and enumerators and people who actually knock on doors get 14.00 – 16.00 PLUS MILEAGE.
As we are all well aware, the stakes are high! An accurate count of the local population helps to ensure that your community receives its fair share of federal funding. This funding includes resources for services, such as health care, education, and roads so please let's join together to help with the census efforts in South County.
