Local boards of health in Massachusetts are required by state statutes and regulations to perform many important and crucial duties relative to the protection of public health, the control of disease, the promotion of sanitary living conditions, and the protection of the environment from damage and pollution.

Common Fees for the Monterey Board of Health:
Septic Permit: $200.00 New/Upgrade or Replacement & $50.00 Repair (as of 6/20/06)  Effective 11/19/07 all septic permit applications must have original signatures for the owner and licensed installer.
Septic Installer's Permit: $75.00
Well Construction Permit: $100.00
Witness of Perc Test: $200.00/1st 3 hours, $50.00 thereafter
Camp Permit: $200.00
Septage Hauler Permit: $125.00
