Wilson McLaughlin House Committee
Minutes, December 8, 2005
Our agenda: 1. Our report on our two community planning meetings (12-1-05 and 12-20-05); 2. Nora reporting on the fundraising committee work; 3. note cards; 4. Berkshire Taconic Foundation grant; 5. Monterey Preservation Land Trust grant.
The minutes of our November 18, 2005 meeting were approved.
We very much like the note cards Joe has produced for thank-you cards for people who make donations.
Nora was given approval for the fundraising committee plan she presented to the Wilson McLaughlin House Committee.
We now have $2,000 for seed money from MPLT and BTF.
Evelyn pointed out that we really need $100,000 before we are ready to do a campaign for money.
For our capital campaign we would need the architectural plan and a drawing perhaps of what our renovations might look like.
Gige reported on the Land Trust meeting where it was decided to give the WMHC $l,000.
Laurily Epstein has suggested a tag sale as a tie-in with the I Love Monterey Day.
When we go to see donors we should tell them why we need seed money, who we are and leave something with them. We would each have 4 potential donors and a small packet.
During January and February we will approach potential donors.
We agreed to meet with the town Select Board for the signing of our lease and our memorandum of understanding on Dec. 12, 2005 at 11:00 am.
We adjourned without an agenda for our next meeting on Thursday, January 5, 7:00 pm, at the Olds house.
