Minutes, January19, 2006
Present were: Gige O’Connell, Lew Scheffey, Nora Hayes, Evelyn Vallianos, Joe Baker, Shirley Olds
The minutes of January 5, 2006 were approved.
The Construction Committee reported by Joe: Joe, Jim and Shirley met with Chris Blair for his help with the Request for Proposals which will be sent out to architects. Joe will give the Select Board the RFP on Monday, Jan 23, to look over and he hopes to mail it to architects on Wednesday, Jan 25. We went over the RFP with Joe and loosened up the time dates for responses.
The whole committee will want to hear why the Construction Committee will have chosen the final three architects. Our whole committee will want to interview those final three people. It will have to be the same committee members to do those interviews.
Fundraising Committee reported by Nora: We heard the feedback from people who had already contacted some donors and we were encouraged.
Gige, Nora and Joyce Scheffey will try to make appointments with representatives Smitty Pignatelli and Andrea Nuciforo to see if they may know of funds that might be available to us. The Fundraising Committee will invite Ray Tryon to their next meeting on January 30, to hear his ideas on fundraising.
Public Relations Committee by Joe: The Eagle and the Record articles were mentioned.
The idea of the tag sale to be on September 2 was very much approved by the Cultural Council. The tag sale connection with the Cultural Council will give us excellent PR.
Laurily is a friend of someone who will hold a living-room party in the summer with second-home owners with the idea of raising funds. We will invite that friend to Lew’s lawn party on May 13.
The needs assessment is being worked on by the Public Relations Committee.
The Clerical Committee has not yet met but Gige, Evelyn and Shirley will meet Monday, Jan. 23, at 9:30 am.
Joe urged that we try to have a general public meeting at the church basement for town people to get information about what our committee is doing.
Our next meeting will be February 9, at 7:00 pm.
Before that we hope our committee will have met with their list of donors.
