Q. What happens if work is performed without a permit, or fails to follow the conditions of the permit?
A. The Conservation Commission can issue an enforcement order, ceasing all work on the site and requiring that the site be brought into compliance. The Department of Environmental Protection can impose fines, under the Wetlands Protection Act, of as much as $25,000 per offense.
