Town Agreement with Grange 291
In March, 1988, the Town voted to appropriate from available funds in the Treasury the sum of $1.00 for the purchase from the Monterey Grange 291 of the Grange building and property on Route 23, Monterey, as show on Assessors’ Map 16, Parcel 65, Book 221, Page 12 Said purchase subject to the following conditions:
The Town provided the Monterey Grange 291 with a meeting room with kitchen facilities at no cost for as long as the chapter existed. The chapter ceased to exist by vote of its membership in 1997.
The name of the building shall always include Monterey Grange 291.
The Town formally and unanimously voted to recognize the generosity of the Grange, and to tender our thanks to Monterey Grange 291.
