Town of Monterey Council on Aging Board Meeting Minutes 11/18/2019
Present: JoAnn Bell, Kay Purcell, Norma Champigny, Roz Halberstadter, Kyle Pierce
Meeting called to order at 10:15 a.m.
Minutes of October 28, 2019 COA Board Meeting approved with corrections.
Discussion re possibility of Hume students doing household tasks for elderly residents; Ilene to call and follow-up with Hume.
January 9 Board meeting to be at 9 a.m. at the Monterey Community Center prior to the southern Berkshire Regional CoA meeting at 10 a.m.
Discussion of classes available at Claire Teague: Move and Groove for $3 Tuesday and Thursday at 9:30, lunch $2 (call to reserve day before.)
Discussion re outreach worker job description, which had been worked on by Ilene, Kay and Kyle. Corrections made and approved.
There is a group of outreach workers who meet every 2 months or so, led by Barbara Proper, who is the outreach worker for Adams. Her phone is 413-743-8333 and email bproper@town.adamsma.us. Kyle to get in touch, also with Linda Riiska from Sandisfield, which has started a program, 413-258-4816.
Reminder of the December 5 Senior Holiday Concert and Luncheon at Mount Everett at 12 p.m.
Decision made to have one CoA Board meeting in December, on December 9 at !0 a.m.
Meeting adjourned at 11:55 a.m.
