Minutes of September 9, 2019 at the Monterey Community Center - Final
The meeting convened at 9:05. Present Were: Kay Purcell, Kyle Pierce, Norma Champigny, Ruth Champigny, Jean German, Wendy German, Joann Bell, Ilene Marcus, Roz Halberstadter.
Minutes from 6/10/19; 6/24/19, and 8/24/19 were distributed and review. Grammatical corrections were made and minutes were adopted as follows:
6/10/19 Ruth made motion to approve; Joan seconded; unanimously approved
6/24/19 Ruth made motion to approve; Norma seconded; unanimously approved
8/24/18 Ruth made motion to approve; Norma seconded unanimously approved
Discussion was held on the Val Kil, CIA trip for October 23rd. CIA only runs the $20 pasta special in July and after discussion, all agreed that at$63 per person, it is too expensive. We agreed that Wendy would do some research with a friend who lives near Val Kill and Kyle will call the woman at Val Kill and get more reasonable local options and keep the trip without the CIA portion. Kyle will put in the paper and gauge interest since we can order the bus up to a week prior to the trip.
Canna Care Docs is still on schedule for early October and Kyle will follow-up about that.
The need of seniors who have small household clean-up projects, especially in the fall and summer was was discussed. Ilene will remember to reach out to HUME to schedule a visit to see if we can hook into their volunteers
There was a discussion on outreach and getting people information and if we should use Chris Blair to get messages out to more people about COA events and goings on.
Meeting adjourned at 9:50 for the Regional COA meeting, Hosted by the Monterey COA.
