The group reviewed the 29 applicants for MCC grants in 2020, considering allocations of $4,800 from the state and $3,000 from town funds.
Decisions were made based on past experiences with and reports about the programs, consideration of how many Monterey residents would be impacted, whether the proposed activity expanded cultural offerings in a balanced way, whether the applicant had already received funding for three years in a row, and other potential sources of revenue for the programming.
