Minutes February 6, 2024   COA Monthly Board Meeting

Attendees: Lin Saberski, Maureen Banner, Kyle Pierce, JoAnn Bell, Roberta Weiss, Kathryn Roberts

Lin called the meeting to order at 10:05 and the January 2024 minutes were approved.

Parkinson’s Support Group report: Once again an invitation to all COA members was extended to attend the first hour of the Parkinson’s Support Group. Richard added COA Board to the PSG email group list.

March Parkinson Group will be a clinical social worker from Gould Farm Brett Thatcher who will discuss Coping with Parkinson Related Anxiety.

February  COA  Events:

Princess Bride is the planned monthly COA movie 2/14 at 7pm in the library.  Lunch will be at Koi this month 2/23 at noon and Clare Teague lunch rescheduled to March 22.  JoAnn will return to do her Wednesday afternoon library hours 3 to 5. COA will provide refreshments for the Native Plant group’s film on Saturday 2/24/24 at 11:00 am. Grief Support group will be held at the MCC on February 29 at 2pm.  Game Day will return Wednesday February 28. Documentary Film may return in February but definitely be back in March at the Monterey Library.

Lunch March 22 Clare Teague Senior Center 11:30am for $3.00 charge. We hope to arrange Tap Dancing after lunch.

Norman Rockwell Museum visit 3/26/24 10 am with lunch (Restaurant TBD) in Stockbridge afterwards.

COA Game afternoon March 27 2 pm Monterey Community Center.

Council reviewed the points from the planning meeting and Lin recapped.

Jen Brown gave us a spontaneous visit to review reflective vests.

MCC Support Grief Group discussed.  As long as Rachel Lively from Hospice wants to continue ok with Council.  This event managed by MCC.

Transportation update by Lin.  Cost has increased but increase in State funds covers most of the increase.

New Business:

Discussed Smith College visit in April.

New Business: Peter Poirier performance; Lin will figure schedule.
