Broadband Committee Meeting                               07/09/18

Attendance : BJ Johnson, George Cane, Kenn Basler, Larry Kline

Meeting came to order at 9:AM

  •  Discussed Fiber Connect’s request to trench on town roads and install poles in the town right-of-way. Committee asked for a detailed map, would necessitate a pole hearing in front of the Select Board. Committee moved to have Fiber Connect request the necessary hearing from the town and to follow all regulations that National Grid follows. Committee agreed that the proposal was a good way to jump-start some of the problem make-ready areas.  
  • No report available from Bay State. Follow up necessary
  • Received report from Unibank on cost of issuing bonds, loans.
  •    Unibank suggested state house notes if the town was going to fund the final 30%. Notes would be timed to payments from the state. Need to get firm payment schedule from state. Committee agreed that a schedule was necessary before presenting to town.
