Draft a letter to MBI requesting meeting
Present letter to Select Board on Wed for their signatures
Develop talking points for proposed meeting with MBI
- What is the cost to the town?
2. What are the costs to the subscribers?
3. What services are offered?
4. Is the technology current, future proof,
or is it lacking?
5. Does the deployment follow trends in
the industry?
6. Would the town be locked in, and for
how many years?
7. What leverage do we have to ensure the
vendor selected stays up to date with
services and capabilities?
8. Is the business model forward thinking
or does it rely on older, declining models
of content distribution?
9. Does the solution position Monterey in
an advantageous position relative to other local towns, towns across the region, and/or nationally?
10. Will the vendor support net neutrality in light of the President’s and FCC’s decision to eliminate it? - The above will be used as guidance and talking points as we review proposals from Charter and Fiber Connect and schedule a meeting with MBI
- Reviewed shared info on cord cutting and the affect it was having on the major players especially Charter.
