PUBLIC HEARING/MEETING

Meeting Place: 435 Main Rd., Monterey Town Office.  Conference Room

The Conservation Commission for the Town of Monterey will hold a public hearing/meeting pursuant to M.G.L., c 131, sections 39A & 40, the Scenic Mountain Act and the Wetland Protection Act to act on the following:

Meeting Opened:  6:09 pm

NEW HEARINGS AND MEETINGS:

Public Meeting: SMA RDA, Map 228 Lot 013, 165 Stevens Lake Way, Property Owner: Bevacqua filed by Creative Building Solutions for the associated site work and construction of a single-family home within the mapped Scenic Mt. Act.

Linda Shafiroff of Creative Solutions briefed the members on the proposed project. Discussion ensued regarding past permitting, approvals and compliance.  Water management was discussed.  The project was approved N2 CB/DD MSV

Public Meeting:  WPA RDA, Map 111, Lot 025, 26 Seven Arts Rd, Property Owner: Burns filed by John Field Services for the removal of trees within the buffer zone of Lake Buel.

DD conducted a site visit and briefed the members on the condition of the trees and their proximity to the home and the bank.  Photos of the trees were shared.  The request was approved N3 as submitted with the condition to rake, seed, and hay disturbed areas.   DD/NW MSV

Public Meeting:  WPA RDA. Map 101, Lot 046, 10 Sylvan Rd, Property Owner: Salomon/Rodriquez filed by Berkshire Geo Tech for the proposed construction and associated site work for a detached garage in the buffer zone of Lake Garfield.

Chris Tryon of Berkshire Geo Tech briefed the members on the proposed project.  Straw wattles were shown on plan.  The request was approved N3 as submitted.  CB/DD.  MSV

Public Input and Comment for Items not on the agenda:

Resident Kevin West of Monterey attended the meeting showing some interest in membership.

74 Tyringham Rd, Map 101, Lot 53, Property Owner: Traynor – WPA COC #230-0285

The request for the COC was reviewed and approved CB/TL MSV

MISC:

Minutes - Approve previous meeting minutes:

May 2022 minutes were reviewed and approved with edits.  CB/RD MSV.

Preliminary Discussion – Gould Farm, Monterey Water Company:

Monterey Water Company

CB briefed the members on the conditions that DEP has required of the company.  Some of the requirements will need permitting from the Commission.

Gould Farm

CB briefed the members on Gould’s Farm plans to expand adding a dorm.

153 Hupi Rd – WPA Superseding Determination of Applicability – Update

Property Owner is submitting a new RDA

153 Hupi Rd - OML Complaint – Update

KW will send minutes to the AG’s office as requested.  CB briefed the members on his research of the OML

8 Dowd – EO – Update

Property Owner is retaining an engineer to draft the NOI.

48 Tyringham Rd – EP – Ratify

Members reviewed and the Emergency Permit was ratified.  CB/DD MSV

Review Correspondence – Misc. Mail, Warrant Details, Expense Account

Discuss and approve purchasing files and storage

Members reviewed a forest cutting plan on Blue Hill Rd.  NW will look further into adding comments. 

Agent Report – Approve Time Sheet, Discuss and Approve Agent to process and submit invoices for payment.:
