The meeting opened at 10 am.  Members present were Kyle Pierce, Ruth Champigny, Roz Halberstader; excused were Norma Champigny and Ilene Marcus.  Also attending were Kay Purcell, Joann Bell, Kenn Basler and Dawn Lemon.  Minutes were unavailable.

K. Basler introduced D. Lemon, representative of TRI,  management firm for the community grant for housing rehabilitation.  Some possible repairs: roofs, windows, insulation, lead paint, handicap accessibility.   The process includes application, evaluation of income, determination, contractor viewing, scheduling.  There is a supervisor of construction. All contractors are licensed and insured.   Documents needed : social security, pension, bank statements, 8 week pay stubs.  IRA is not considered with gross income; it doesn’t matter what is in bank accounts..                                                                      

TRI office is above Tom’s Toys, 291 Main St., Gr Barrington, Suite 314, handicap accessible. Phone 413-645-3448 for an evaluation appointment.  D.Lemon will speak at the February 20th potluck supper.

K. Bassler expressed concern about the senior population.  K. Pierce was given a letter from Sgt. Foley re seniors.  Conversation will be continued.

Entertainment by Tim Egmond - songs and stories at theCommunity Center on Wednesday, February 27th at 1 pm.  Light refreshments.  Help needed to set up at noon.  K.Pierce will prepare posters.

K.Purcell will contact AARP re safe driving program for seniors, May/June.

The next meeting will be on February 11th at 10 am.     The meeting was adjourned at noon.
