Finance Committee meeting minutes, Wednesday, March 20, 2019, 3:00pm.

Present:

Joint budget meeting with Select Board.

Overtime budget for administrative: $1,000 added to a new line item to cover potential overtime.

Street lighting: $3,800 added by unanimous approval.

Group purchasing: $1,000 added as per Berkshire Regional Planning Commission.

Household hazardous waste collection: raised to $3,300.

Unemployment Insurance: $14,040 will be added to FY20 for claim by fired employee pending response from Accountant.

Town Administrator: Mr. Basler proposed dropping the town administrator line item to $1. Mr. Coburn proposed dropping the Collins Center study and adding the $6,000 to the town administrator line item. Mr. Cain proposed dropping the town administrator line item until the Collins Center study is complete. Mr. Sylbert proposed leaving the line item in. Ms. Edelman proposed dropping the line item. Ms. Wolin proposed leaving the line item in for town meeting. The Finance Committee voted 2-1 to leave the line item in the budget.

Fire Department: rent and utilities should be split.

Cart Services should be moved from special article to annual budget appropriation.

Joint meeting closed.

FC continuation of meeting:

Reserve transfer request for property and casualty insurance was approved unanimously.

Reserve transfer request for town hall operations bills were not approved due to sufficient balance in account.

Minutes of 2/16/19 meeting approved.

Minutes of joint Select Board Finance Committee budget meetings approved: 11/28/18, 12/10/18, 12/19/18, 1/23/19.
