Minutes of Finance Committee Meeting 10-1-2020 @ 5PM

Jon let us know he would not be able to make it to the special town meeting.

The town has decided to spend half of its free cash on purchasing 2 trucks that had been put on hold. 

It is the finance committee’s position that big purchases should not be made at a special town meeting. These meetings should be for small items that were not foreseen at the annual town meeting. The majority of the items to be voted on at the special town meeting had all been items the finance committee had not wanted to put into this year’s budget due to covid.  Don did not like that, and as chair convened a special town meeting 2 months after our annual town meeting.

Rebecca and Michele will be at the meeting and have agreed to speak against the purchases.
