Finance Committee Meeting – Minutes 2-24-21

Meeting started at 4:00 pm, Present was Jon Sylbert and Rebecca Wolin, Michele Miller absent

Agenda

2021/2022 budget.

Jon and Rebecca went over the special articles and discussed how we would approach the articles at the 5:30 meeting.  As it was just the two of us, we adjourned the meeting at 4:15

Meeting at 5:30 with the select board

Present – Rebecca Wolin (even though the select board has me marked absent), Jon Sylbert, Michele joined later.

Bill Hathaway of the Southern Berkshire Volunteer Ambulance presented their budget request.  There were many questions regarding the formulas used.  Both the finance committee and the select board decided to keep $5,000 as a place holder

We then went through other special articles

The community Center Lighting project.  The request for $30,000 from the MCC was discussed.  Shawn felt he could fix it for $6,500 so this amount was put in as a place holder

It was suggested that the police cruiser be paid for with stabilization funds.  Jon suggested we wait until the budget is finished to decide on where the funds would come from

Don brought up the change to the budget for the Town Administrator.  As the select board filled this position without advertising for it, both Jon and Rebecca stated they could not approve the change at this time and that to skip the subject and move on.  Don insisted so as it was the finance committee’s turn to chair the meeting we called for the meeting to be over and left.
