FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING WITH SELECT BOARD

MARCH 20, 2020 MINUTES

ATTENDING MEMBERS:                     

            GEORGE CAIN, CHAIR             DON COBURN                         MELISSA NOE

The meeting was called to order at 4:30 PM. 

Reviewed the open areas of budget resolution; 1) salary and wage increases associated with 75/25 healthcare splits, and 2) Bonding options.  Work in process.  Further, review and decision targeted for next joint meeting on March 25^th.

The meeting also addressed the idea of a “recession budget” in the event that the general economy deteriorated well beyond any anticipated levels.  Everyone was asked to develop areas of potential savings which might be allocated to a “reserve account” in the event that the State’s ‘pilot’ payments fell far short of historical levels and if other revenue sources dropped beyond currently anticipated levels.

These items were also planned for further discussion at the 3/25 joint meeting.

The Finance Committee planned a follow-up meeting for march 24^th at 5:30 PM

The Finance Committee adjourned its meeting at 5:10 PM.
