MONTEREY FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

Meeting Date:  3/29/22

Finance Committee Members Present:   Michele Miller, Chair, Jon Sylbert, and Frank Abbott

Finance Committee Members Absent:  none

Others present: Melissa Noe, Mickey Jervas, Don Coburn

Meeting opened at: 6pm

Reserve fund transfer request was approved 2-0.

Approval of the minutes of the meeting from 3/1/22 was tabled. Minutes from the 3/8/22 meeting were unanimously approved. Minutes from 3/9, 3/18, and 3/22 were sent for review.

Budget discussion. Affirmed that all members are using the same copy of the budget. The Select Board has finalized their recommendations.

Discussion of ARPA funds

Sylbert proposed to use $475,000 in free cash to reduce tax levy and recommended cutting 5% off the total budget. Wants to see a balanced budget.

Discussion of COLA increase.

Sylbert left the meeting, which was then ended due to a lack of quorum.
