Finance Committee Meeting Minutes for 4-14-21

Present  Rebecca Wolin, Jon Silbert, Michele Miller

Agenda items to be discussed:
Review Budget
Prepare for informational meeting
Prepare for town meeting
Review transfer of funds
approve minutes

Minutes were reviewed and will be mailed to the town clerk

Michele spoke about the need for a capital budget and she was going to work on it with Melissa.  Jon and Rebecca agreed and said that there used to be one, but Melissa stopped keeping it and it should be set up and followed so that the town boards and the town will know what will be needed down the road.

We spoke about the need for a letter written to the town, Jon agreed to start on it.

We spoke about the transfer of funds.  The finance committee agreed 2-1 that frivouolus spending in May and June would not result in transfers being made.  Last year both the DPW and the fire company spent this years purchases with last year funds and requested money moved.  They were told that this year that would not happen.

We discussed the informational meeting and the process we would take. 

Mickey inquired about the library loan and where did it stand.  We explained that the finance committee voted to increase the payment to what was on the loan schedule from previous years, and would talk to the select board.  The select board wanted to bond the library loan and some truck purchases.  The finance committee does not agree and that is why Michele is putting together a new capital plan
