FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING

APRIL 16, 2020 MINUTES

ATTENDING MEMBERS:

The meeting was called to order at 4:30 PM.

Jon expressed a concern about the on-going disagreement that he was experiencing with Don Coburn regarding the role of the Finance Committee and the Select Board with respect to the preparation and presentation of the Annual Budget at Town Meeting.  A motion was made, seconded, and approved for Jon to draft an email to the appropriate Commonwealth authorities for reconfirmation of the guidance he has received in the past.

A discussion of the idea that the Town might delay the FY 2021 Library principal payment on the Library Loan was held in light of the expected financial challenges associated with COVID-19.  After this discussion, the Finance Committee voted to leave the entire planned payment in the FY2021 Budget with the expectation that there could be other avenues of savings for the Town.

Rebecca agreed to prepare the Finance Committee’s final recommended budget and warrant information.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:11 PM.
