Finance Committee Meeting Part Two 4/4/23 In the Parking lot.

Present: M.Miller, F Abbott, I Marcus

Postponed resolving minutes until next.

Following the Joint Meeting with the Selectboard, the members of the Finance Committee continued with a vigorous discussion of the information and format for presenting to the 

Public information meeting tentatively scheduled for Tuesday May 2.

It was agreed that Frank Abbott would prepare visuals in support of the items on the Town Warrant in order to lay out clearly where increases (salaries, supplies, insurances) over last year occurred. 

We understood that discussions on the details must be held during regularly scheduled meeting to avoid Open Meeting Law violations.

Abbott will prepare pie charts showing the comparisons. Marcus will prepare additional materials on Revenue. We agreed that it was essential to be brief and clear to not overwhelm voters. Miller will draft a narrative introduction.

Also using the older Capital Plan format, prepare and present a current version incorporating Fire Co, Fire Dept, Highway and Town Hall Capital expenses. Impacts on future operating budgets.

Resolved to offer refreshment to attendees.

Reflected on the year of working together.

Begin to prepare Town Report now.
