Finance Committee Meeting – 4-7-21

Finalize Budget

We spoke about the purpose of town meeting and that regardless what both boards put in the budget, changes from the residents at town meeting could happen.
Rebecca wanted to count the special artlices in our cash spend to determine the tax levy increase.
There were two citizens petitions – one from the lake Garfield working group for $30,000 and one from the MCC for $60,000.
We also discussed that there may be other citizens petitions and we should account for those.
The funds for the air breathing filters for the fire department will be purchased with a grant. The towns potion of $10,000 would be in as a special warrant. If the grant is not approved, the purchase will be put off until a future year, or until the grant is approved. This is the 3rd time the fire department has applied for this grant.
The finance committee on a would like to just keep the budget as is and expect about $113,000 in special warrant and citizens petition being approved.
We agreed to meet next week.
