George summarized the current status of the FY 2021 Recommended Budget in terms of the Select Board and Finance Committee agreement on all of the key elements with the only exceptions being the following items:

  1. Free Cash.  After some discussion and a review of the Free Cash balances for the past two fiscal years (along with the current gap between the FY 2020 Budget vs. Actual spending through April 30, 2020), it was agreed to hold $25,000 in Free Cash going into FY 2021.
  2. Ambulance Services.  Recognizing that the ambulance service has not provided the requested financials, the budget allocation was reduced from $9,885 to $5,000.
  3. Fire Department Capital.  The $30,000 if Fire Department Capital was put on hold until November when the Select Board will have more information regarding the usage of those funds.
  4. The proposal to hold the Fire Department Budget at the FY 2020 levels was approved based upon Kenn’s indication that the shift change plans and costs could be covered by Covid-19 funding.

As a result of the actions outlined above, the Select Board and the Finance Committee are now in complete agreement of the Recommended FY 2021 Budget.

Minutes from the Finance Committee Meeting from May 19th and 20th were reviewed and approved.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:53 AM.

Respectfully submitted,

George Cain, Chair.
