Finance Committee Meeting Minutes 6/29/21

JUNE 29 FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES         

HELD AT TOWN HALL AND VIA ZOOM: CALLED TO ORDER AT 6PM.

ATTENDEES: MICHELE MILLER, CHAIR, KATRINA FITZGERALD, JON SYLBERT, MEMBERS, DON COBURN MICKEY JERVAS

THE MEETING WAS RECORDED.

Agenda was reviewed: Meetings held on May 18, June 1, June 15 and June 22 have been challenged as“illegal”. In order to move forward Miller proposed revoting on all items which we had deemed complete.

The vote for Chair was held again and Miller was elected.

Miller then read from the “minutes” of the 5/18 meeting to be entered into the minutes of June 29 meeting. Sylbert objected but refused to participate in rewording the effort and notes were voted on and accepted 2-1. Sylbert stated that there have been “no legal meetings” and this was “another violation” which he would refer to the AG’s office but “Let’s move on”

Miller proposed voting on all the transfers in hand many of which had already been voted on.

The transfers were displayed on shared screen and read. Sylbert objected to voting on a transfer that was not signed by the Selectboard.  An attempt to correct this erroneous assumption was rejected by Sylbert who again stated he would contact AG’s office. Miller, clearly frustrated, called him a “prune”.

Sylbert stated that transfers must be voted on individually.  Voting on transfers resumed and those from April were accepted.

Sylbert stated that he had never had complaints under the previous chair who was not re-elected.

Miller offered to step down as chair as Sylbert was clearly more qualified to run the meetings.

0.e declined.  Sensing that the business at hand would not be accomplished in a timely fashion, Miller moved that we adjourn the meeting and take up the transfers at the next meeting of the Finance Committee to be held on July 6, 2021 at 6pm. In person and on Zoom.

The Meeting was adjourned at 6:16pm
