GEORGE CAIN, CHAIR
JON SYLBERT
REBECCA WOLIN
The meeting was called to order at 4:04 PM.
George reviewed the FY 2021 edits made as a result of his meeting with Melissa Noe.
In addition, the $30,000 Fire Department Capital Budget was restored based upon the FD’s detailing to the Select Board of its planned usage for handicap railings.
A discussion about restoring some or all of the $14,000 reduction in the Parks Department budget was left for discussion at the Town Meeting. Several attempts to connect with the Parks Department were unsuccessful.
The Finance Committee voted to retain the parking lot $5,000 budget for fencing based upon the expectation that usage of the playing field and basketball court will be possible in July/August/September period. Plus, neighbors had complained about infringement on their property. Plus, it will help to maintain the paved surfaces.
With the intention of having a better comparison of the FY 2020 Budget vs. the FY 2021 Budget, a fair amount of time was spent analyzing the use of Free Cash and Stabilization funds for each of these years. Rebecca is recasting her spreadsheet analysis to update the latest information on these expenditures. The finance Committee will meet again on June 6th at 9:30 AM to review this work.
The Finance Committee agreed to hold its Annual Information Meeting for taxpayers the night before the Town Meeting at 5:00 PM at the Fire Department Pavilion. Notice of this meeting will be provided with the Warrant mailing.
The Minutes from the 5/26/2020 meeting were reviewed and approved.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:59 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
George Cain, Chair
