Attending: M Miller, F Abbott and Ilene Marcus

Prepare for Joint Meeting to follow

Welcome visitor:  Ilene Marcus: candidate for interim appointment to Finance Committee.

FA: discuss process for selection: 4 applicants: I Marcus, D Coburn, K Moody and R Tryon.

IM: talks about her current engagement and experience in problem solving on COA and Transfer

 Station.

MM: Important to focus on financial reality of Town and how to put it into a context for Townspeople.

How can we impress on people that we are at a pivotal point in making decisions?

It’s not just about the operating budget but the bigger picture. How will the Town pay for the

outstanding maintenance on Town properties and very large climate related expenses anticipated and

unanticipated?

IM: dream vs resources available. Encourage collaboration and compromise. Master Plan as a vehicle for

this discussion.

Schedule next meeting for August 30.

FA and IM: discuss Policies and Procedures with Selectboard and set Goals and Priorities.

IM asks how the Budget is developed. MM :” It’s a smooth process when it’s allowed to work.”

as described in Policies and Procedures.

Impact of School Capital Plan and Consolidation: Anticipated at 50K/ yr.?

Will School Board Committee be weighted towards enrollment?

State funding for new School.

December due date for Plan.
