Finance Committee meeting minutes, Wednesday, March 27, 2019, 5:00pm.

Joint budget session with Select Board:

Discussion:

Line 151, town counsel: after discussion, a motion was made to increase the town counsel line 151 by 2 percent plus $1,000, which amount was reduced from line 151 additional counsel expenses. The total increase for line 151 town counsel was $1,244. Motion was seconded and approved.

Lines [blank] fire department training, [blank] fire department lease, [blank] fire department capital: after discussion, a motion was made to add the following temporary amounts: fire department training, $10,000; fire department lease, $17,000; fire department capital, $20,000. Motion was seconded and approved. These number will be reviewed at the next joint Finance Committee – Select Board meeting of April 3rd.

Fire Company Ltd. charitable 501(c)(3) tax filings were reviewed; recommendations will be passed on to the Fire Chief.

Line 913, unemployment: additional charges to this account for FY19 and FY20 were submitted by the accountant. Discussion ensued about putting a special article on the FY20 warrant to raise and appropriate the FY19 additional charges on the FY19 budget. The FY20 additional charges have been added to line 913 for FY20.

The committee reminded the Select Board that the accountant had recommended rescinding the Wired West bond vote, which needs to be put on the warrant.
