Finance Committee meeting minutes of 8/15/18, 5:00pm

Joint meeting with Select Board and Broadband Committee:

The Broadband Committee presented a recommendation to the Select Board to contract with Fiber Connect to install and maintain fiber internet and phone services to town residents and to place an article to borrow funds for the project on a near-future special town meeting warrant.

Though no motions were made and no votes taken, the Finance Committee spoke individually in an advisory role. Mr. Sylbert felt it was too soon to propose funding and would not recommend doing so at a special town meeting. Mr. Cain suggested the town enter into a non-monetary contract with Fiber Connect so that Fiber Connect could seek a bank loan.
