Finance Committee meeting minutes of 3/7/19, 5:00pm

Joint budget meeting with Select Board.

Lake Garfield Working Group’s request for $50k for weed remediation: Mr. Cain noted there was insufficient information. Mr. Sylbert maintained that a tax district should be formed as a first source of funding. The Finance Committee voted unanimously to omit this request from the warrant.

Grant writer: level-funding at $10,000 was proposed.

Fire Department: Finance Committee moved and unanimously voted to ask town counsel if the town can donate to the firehouse as a 501c3 for capital improvements.

Parks Department:; $1,000 will be added to the Parks Department budget for a new backboard.

Reserve fund transfer form: The Finance Committee will add additional wording for the  form regarding Chapter 44, Section 31 of the general laws.

Town Administrator: discussion ensued about funding this line for a half year. No vote was taken.

The Finance Committee remained for the Select Board’s executive session, as per MGL Chapter 30A Section 21 #6.
