Sandisfield Road Culvert Replacement and Temporary Road Closure

This is a reminder that the Town of Monterey, in coordination with Comprehensive Environmental Inc. (CEI), has contracted with Western Earthworks to replace the culvert located near 32 Sandisfield Road. This work will require a full road closure at that location, approximately one-third of a mile from Main Road in Monterey. Construction is scheduled to begin on May 4, 2026, and is expected to last up to six (6) weeks. The Town has notified both Greg Massini Bus Company and Dufour Bus Company. Each company will contact families directly regarding any changes to student pickup and drop-off locations. The Monterey Highway Department has graded and rolled Wallace Hall Road, which will be two-way traffic, and is currently grading and rolling Chestnut Hill Road. Both will be local detours during the project.  Commercial traffic and buses should plan to access Sandisfield Road via West Street to West Hubbard Road in Sandisfield, MA.  Additional updates will be posted on the Town’s website.
