Cultural Council Meeting Minutes 3/8/21

MINUTES:  MONTEREY CULTURAL COUNCIL

DATE:  Monday, March 8, 2021, 3:00pm to 4:10pm

LOCATION:  Virtual on Zoom

PRESENT:   Maggie Barkin, Janet Jensen, Wendy Germain, Dorene Beller, Erica Stern, Carole Clarin

Examining Our Process and Dividing Responsibilities:

• Articles for the Monterey News will be written by Janet.
• A calendar listing two to three months of Monterey Cultural Council events will be created, printed and posted in several locations within Monterey by Erica.
• Cultural Council Events that take place at the Monterey Community Center will be placed on the Community Center calendar by Wendy.
• Each member of the Monterey Cultural Council will contact several grantees and provide Erica with the date, time and location for the event to be placed on the calendar. 
• Information about events at the Monterey Community Center will also be provided to Wendy.

Additional Discussions:

• Programs that were not able to take place in 2020 due to the pandemic will carry over to 2021.

                1.  Knox Gallery Talks at the Monterey Library

                2.  Coffee House Music Programs at the Community Center

• Songwriting Workshop grantee, Robin O’Herin will offer her program of four sessions this summer.
• Possibility of using the Gazebo in town for events.
• Workshop provided by Janet to educate the members of the council on the efficient use of Google Docs.
• Provide money to the Monterey Community Center to rent a tent.

 The next Monterey Cultural Council Meeting will be on April 4, 2021 at 4:00pm on Zoom.
