MONTEREY PLANNING BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Meeting Date:  9/22/22

Finance Committee Members Present:   Tom Sawyer, Chair, Laura Mensi, Margie Abbott, Roger Tryon, Lauren Behrman, Chip Allen, Noel Wicke

Finance Committee Members Absent: none

Others present: Heather Brown, Foresight Land Services, Peter and Evelyn Vallianos, Kate Van Olst

Meeting opened at: 7pm

  1. Introduce Kate Van Olst, Office Assistant for Town of Monterey and assistant to the planning board. She will record the minutes and provide administrative support to the planning board for 5 hours per month.
  2. Heather Brown presented Form A for 12 Bidwell Road. Peter and Evelyn Vallianos described the plan to redraw the property lines. Parcel is to be conveyed to new owners for lake rights. Parcel B is to be combined with the abutting property. Neither parcels are buildable lots.  A motion was made to approve the plan as presented. The motion was seconded and approved unanimously.
  3. Zoning Bylaw clerical error correction. In the 2017 updates to the table of use regulations, section D, Recreational uses, there is an error in the camp line. Susan Cooper researched it and found the change / error was made in 2009. It should be:
    1. Camp 
      1. Agricultural/Residential Zone = BA, use available by special permit from Board of Appeals
      2. Lake Shore District = Yes, permitted by right
      3. Business District = No, prohibited
  4. A motion was made to approve the minutes of last meeting 9/8/2022. The motion was seconded and approved unanimously.
  5. Seth Jenkins from Berkshire Regional Planning Commission presented the final draft of the flyer to announce the master plan public input forum. This will be posted and mailed to all residents. Kate will obtain data from Don Clawson, create a mailing list, and send the flyer to Kwik Print for printing and mailing.

The upcoming sessions are: October 13 – Transportation, Housing, Economic Development, November 12 – Cultural Resources, Facilities, Services, and December 10 – Miscellaneous, Review, Survey Announcement.

  1. The next meeting will be on 10/6/22 at 7pm via Teams Meeting to review the upcoming forum presentation.
  2. A motion was made, seconded, and unanimously approved to adjourn the meeting at 8:45pm.
