                Welcome to Scott Jenssen – first meeting as a new planning board member.

                Marijuana regulations input –

                                Scott Margol – Part time Monterey resident – discussions on the business aspect of Marijuana businesses

                Right farm bylaw existing – does that consider into the potential regulations

                Do we want to protect the region from

                Do we need to split the industrial part from the retail part.

                Does a warehouse or an industrial typ building fit in Monterey

                What could the economic opportunity of this type of Business

                Could these industries promote young entrepreneurs and their families(communes ie Colorado)

                Should there be a limit to the side

                What do the current bylaws govern?

                Do we want to cover a retail businesses in town.

Short term unlicensed rentals

                The state is still working on their regulation

                                Provides income to homeowners

                Con

                                Cuts into legitimate businesses

                                There are no regulations on safety

                                Takes housing stock off the market to dedicate to short term rentals

                Should there be a limit to the number of rentals per year?

                We should get information from fire and police as to if there is a problem.  Larry, will talk to the police chief to see if there is more data.  On if there are problems with temporary rentals, and what is the nature of the complaints.
