Board of Health Meeting Minutes 6/14/21

MONTEREY BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING MINUTES

Date:  June 14, 2021

Present:   John Makuc, Jim Wilusz, Julio Rodriguez and Roy Carwile

1. The minutes from 3/15 and 5/17/21 were approved as written.
2. Jim reviewed the state mosquito aerial spraying program and why it was unnecessary for Monterey to officially opt out.  He went on to explain that there has never been a human case of arbovirus in Berkshire County.
3. Jim provided an update on the $300k grant which we are part of for the next 13 years.  Two full time nurses have been hired to work for the 10 towns in the collaborative.  They will work on a comprehensive public nursing and outreach education program.
4. Jim reminded the Board that the state of emergency with regard to COVID ends tomorrow.  He also confirmed that as of May 29 the transfer station attendants are eligible to remove their masks if they have been vaccinated while working if they so choose.
5. Jim is working on getting all the camp inspections done for the opening season.

A motion was made, seconded and unanimously approved to adjourn at 2:45pm.
