MONTEREY BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING MINUTES
Date: 9/19/22
Present: John Makuc, Thomas Mensi, Mort Salomon, and Jim Wilusz, Health Agent
Meeting began at 2pm
- Animal Inspector – For now, role will be filled by John Makuc. Inspections must be done each year.
- Flu/Booster clinics – schedule is being developed for dates. When schedule is finalized a flyer will be published and shared with the Monterey News. More home COVID tests have been ordered.
- Housing Issue – two more inspections were scheduled but not able to be conducted at the property on Brett Road with some housing issues. Violations of sanitary code letters were sent.
- Abutters to Camp Half Moon filed complaints after the camp season ended of campers using watercraft and landing on other people’s property. Issue was discussed with Camp Director.
- Car seat program will install free car seats for families in need. 100 car seats are available.
- FY24 permit eyes discussion – Jim requested that the pool inspections be switched to the online permitting system. Will ask the town to budget a one-time cost of $800 to add that to the system.
- DPH Capacity assessment – assess needs in order to share resources with other towns through collaborative network.
A motion was made, seconded, and unanimously approved to adjourn at 2:45pm.
