Minutes of the meeting of 12/9/21

Meeting Opened at: 12pm

12noon: Old Business

1. Posting YouTube videos prior to September 22; review & sign agreement: Steve is still waiting on the agreement. This will be tabled to the 15^th.

New Business

1. Town Administrator Items:
   1. Electronic voting options/pricing summary was provided to the Board for review at their leisure.  Melissa was asked to confirm the largest number of voters that have attended in past years.  Melissa will also provide a copy of the summary to the Finance Committee.
   2. Automobile deductibles increase quote: At the yearly insurance review a revised quote was requested with a $1,000 deductible instead of $500.  The savings would be $1,456.  Steve believes it would make sense to make the change as it would take 3 claims to lose any benefit.  A motion was made to amend to policy and increase our deductibles to $1k.  The motion was seconded and approved.
   3. Opioid settlement: The Attorney General’s Office is requesting that Monterey join the settlement.  Steve asked Melissa to confirm with KP Law that joining the settlement would not incur any legal fees to Monterey.
2. Investigation update, sign engagement letter: Steve noted one error in the engagement letter in the first paragraph and suggested crossing off the word “residents” and changing it to “employees”.  Justin agreed.  A motion was made to change residents to employees and sign the engagement letter.  The motion was seconded and approved 2 – 0.
3. A motion was made to approve the minutes of 12/1/21 as amended by both Justin and Steve.  The motion was seconded and approved 2 – 0. A motion was made to approve the minutes of 12/6/21 as amended by both Justin and Steve.  The motion was seconded and approved 2 – 0.
4. The Board of Health has requested that Mort Salomon be appointed to fill the vacancy until the May 2022 election. A motion was made to appoint Mort Salomon to the Board of Health until the May 2022 election.  The motion was seconded and approved 2 – 0.
5. Response to Open Meeting Law Complaint against Steve Weisz filed by John Weingold: Steve read into record his proposed response to the complaint.  Steve and Justin signed the response.
6. Review mail and any correspondence to be sent/signed: none
